Biography
After graduating with distinction, Mailevis continued his training at the renowned National Circus School (ENC) "Circo Nacional de Cuba" in 2003. Here, she explored the circus arts, expanding her repertoire with gymnastic skills, juggling and modern and contemporary dance. Her passion and dedication led her to earn the title of "Trapeze Artist and Figure Skater" after four years of intensive study.
As an accomplished artist, Mailevis excelled as a Solo Dancer at the prestigious Cabaret Continental in Varadero under the direction of artistic master Andrés Gutiérrez. For three years, she honed her skills on stage, cementing her reputation as an exceptional performer in the entertainment world.
Since then, Mailevis has taken her artistry to international stages, from Baltic cruise ships to events in Europe and Dubai. As a professional dancer, dance teacher and juror for prestigious festivals and competitions, she has left an indelible mark on the global artistic community.
Currently, Mailevis exercises her talents as a choreographer and teacher at one of Finland's most renowned dance schools "Baila Baila", where she shares her passion for Cuban and Latin dance with a new generation of artists. In addition, she has launched her own initiative, "Sabrosura Project", with the goal of creating captivating performances that celebrate diversity and artistic expression. With "Sabrosura Project," Mailevis seeks not only to entertain, but also to connect through the transformative power of dance.

Mailevis Ortega Fernandez, is a distinguished professional dancer and choreographer, traces her extraordinary journey from Artemisa (Havana, Cuba), where the first steps of her artistic career manifested at the early age of 8 years old in ballet. For more than three years, she immersed herself in the grace and discipline of this art form, paving the way for a promising career in dance.
Her exceptional talent led her to be selected for the prestigious Escuela Vocacional de Arte (EVA) in Güira de Melena in 2000. For three years, she steeped herself in the rich Cuban dance tradition, mastering a wide range of techniques and styles, from majestic ballet to vibrant folkloric dances such as Danzón, Dansonete, and Afro-Cuban Dances, among others.
